Rutgers athletic director praises team's 'fight' after loss to Indiana
We can’t all be Alabama.
The Crimson Tide are seemingly always ranked No. 1 in the country at some point during the college football season. There are teams a notch below, maybe two notches below, and well, perhaps three notches.
Rutgers, who was 1-3 coming into Week 4, suffered another loss — this time to Indiana. Rutgers was at home, but trailed at halftime 24-7. The Scarlet Knights couldn’t overcome the deficit and are now 1-4.
Rutgers has also lost to Kansas by 41 and Buffalo by 29. It hasn’t been a pretty season.
After the game, though, Rutgers athletic director Patrick Hobbs was proud of the team’s “fight.”
Pat Hobbs made it clear he doesn't publicly comment on any of his teams until after a season. But the Rutgers AD spoke briefly with me after the Indiana loss, praising Scarlet Knights for their 'fight' after falling to 1-4. https://t.co/pEd6SAgFA5 #rutgers

We’re not entirely sure what this means, but, a 7-point loss surely beats losing to teams by 30 and 40. There is some improvement happening.
Rutgers has to host Illinois on Oct. 6. The Fighting Illini are currently 2-2 overall.
