Rutgers DB dives into NCAA transfer portal
A Rutgers defensive back has announced that he will enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
Sunday morning, redshirt junior defensive back Tim Barrow announced that he will be leaving Rutgers and pursuing opportunities elsewhere. Barrow posted a message on Twitter to announce his decision.
“Writing this, I feel bittersweet to announce that I will be looking to pursue my academic and athletic career and football dreams at another university. My time at Rutgers was unforgettable,” Barrow wrote. “To all the coaches and staff, thank you for fostering and cultivating me. To my family, thank you for your support and prayers. And to my brothers, thank you for the best memories. I will continue to always have your backs. Lastly, to the Rutgers fans, thank you for all the love and support you’ve shown me, I am deeply grateful.
“With that said, I have entered my name into the transfer portal. I am excited to see what wonderful things God has in store for me.”
Barrow appeared in all 12 games for the Scarlet Knights in 2019, making four starts. He tallied 43 tackles and 6 pass break-ups. Rutgers finished the season with a 2-10 record and hired Greg Schiano to take over the program at the end of the year.
Barrow was a member of Rutgers’ 2017 recruiting class and was former a 3-star recruit. During his three years in Piscataway, Barrow accounted for 49 tackles while playing in 24 contests.
