Rutgers did something against Ohio State that no other team has done this season
While Rutgers trailed No. 2 Ohio State, 21-7, at the end of the first quarter at SHI Stadium in Piscataway on Saturday, the Scarlet Knights still accomplished something that the Buckeyes’ first nine opponents were not able to.
Joey Kaufman of The Columbus Dispatch shared what that is:
Only one team has scored a first-quarter touchdown in 10 games against Ohio State this season: Rutgers.

Making a play on special teams, Rutgers’ scoring drive was set up with favorable field position when Ohio State freshman Garrett Wilson muffed a punt in his own territory.

The sixth all-time meeting between these two programs, Rutgers is yet to beat Ohio State. On the bright side, the seven points they have recorded on Saturday are already their most against the Buckeyes since 2015.
This B1G East clash is currently airing on BTN.
