Rutgers has already experienced a swift turnaround under Greg Schiano, and the Scarlet Knights now find themselves in unfamiliar territory for Week 4.

In Week 3, Rutgers lost but looked competitive and hungry in the second half against Ohio State. That comes just two weeks after the Scarlet Knights started the 2020 season with a win over Michigan State.

Now, Schiano’s squad heads into Week 4 against Illinois as a seven-point favorite. Not only is that unusual territory, but it is also the first time Rutgers has been favored in a B1G game in nearly six years.

According to Greg Patuto with On the Banks, the last time Rutgers faced a conference opponent as a favorite was against Indiana in 2014. That was the first season in the B1G for the Scarlet Knights and the last winning season in school history.

It will be interesting to see what happens in Week 4. Can Schiano and company get their second conference win of the season?
