There is a new face that will be joining Greg Schiano’s staff at Rutgers. Matt Walp will now be serving as the new Director of Player Engagement per a press release from scarletknights.com.
Walp was most recently the head coach at Archbishop Wood High School in Pennsylvania for the last 2 seasons. He has 26 years of coaching experience at the high school and college level, and 25 years of experience in construction. Walp previously was a coach at Delaware State, where he played college football at. During his time at Archbishop Wood, the team has won 6 PIAA state titles.
Here’s what Schiano had to say about the newest addition to his staff:
“I am thrilled to welcome Matt and Tina to the Rutgers Football Family,” Schiano said. “His experience on the field and in the business world will be a valuable resource to our program.”
