Greg Schiano continues to work on the recruiting front.

The Scarlet Knights received their latest commitment on Thursday afternoon, landing a verbal pledge from three-star defensive tackle Gus Zilinskas out of Englewood, Colorado. He is now the 17th player to join Rutgers’ 2021 recruiting class.

Zilinskas made his announcement with a post on Twitter. He picked Rutgers over offers from nine other programs, including Colorado State, Eastern Michigan, UNLV and Wyoming, among others.

“I am excited to announce that I am committed to continue my academic and athletic career at Rutgers University,” Zilinskas wrote. “Massive thanks to Coach Schiano, Coach Panagos, Coach Aurich and the rest of the Rutgers staff for believing in me and providing the opportunity to join the F.A.M.I.L.Y!”

Zilinskas is a 6-foot-3, 263-pound defensive tackle who ranks as the No. 27 prospect out of the state of Colorado, according to 247Sports. He becomes the fourth defensive lineman in this cycle to commit to Rutgers.

With the latest commitment, Rutgers remains inside the top 20 nationally in the recruiting rankings and sits No. 7 in the B1G.
