Greg Schiano continues to chop away on the recruiting trail.

On Tuesday, Rutgers received a verbal pledge from 3-star strong-side defensive end Ryan Keeler, a native of Chicago. He became the 22nd player in the 2021 class to commit to the Scarlet Knights.

Keeler made his announcement with a post on Twitter.

Keeler is a 6-foot-5, 250-pound defensive end who ranks as one of the top 600 overall prospects in the 2021 class, per 247Sports. He’s ranked as the No. 40 strong-side defensive end and the No. 18 player out of Illinois.

Several schools showed interest in Keeler, as he received 32 offers. He picked Rutgers over Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Purdue and Wisconsin.

Rutgers’ recruiting class now ranks 36th nationally and 8th in the B1G.
