It doesn’t matter what teams are taking the floor, it’s tough for anyone to beat an opponent three times in one season. That’s what Rutgers did on Thursday night.

Rutgers defeated Indiana 61-50 in Round 2 action of the B1G Tournament, improving to 3-0 against the Hoosiers this season. Four players for the Scarlet Knights reached double figures, led by Ron Harper Jr. and Jacob Young, both scoring 13 points in the victory. Myles Johnson and Paul Mulcahy each had 10 and Geo Baker got 7.

Johnson and Harper Jr. both finished with double-doubles, grabbing 13 and 11 rebounds, respectively.

Rutgers’ defense proved huge down the stretch, as Indiana did not make a shot from the floor in the final 9:48 of the game. They scored just 2 points during the final 10 minutes of the contest, both coming on free throws.

The Hoosiers were led in scoring by Trayce Jackson-Davis, who had 19 points and 9 rebounds. Nobody else reached double figures for IU. It also closes the season on a six-game losing streak.

Rutgers improved to 15-10 on the year with the win over Indiana. The Scarlet Knights will take on Illinois in the quarterfinals on Friday.
