Rutgers is on a roll early on this season!

The Scarlet Knights began Monday by coming in at No. 19 on the latest AP Poll. They were one of seven B1G teams to land on the latest poll and were ranked just ahead of Ohio State and Duke.

Then, Rutgers went on the road and took at Maryland in the B1G opener for both teams. Behind a game-high 27 points from Ron Harper Jr. and the return of Geo Baker, the Scarlet Knights captured a 74-60 win over the Terrapins to improve to 5-0 this season.

According to BTN, Rutgers achieved a couple of firsts in the victory:

Harper scored 27 points to go along with five rebounds, four assists, a steal, and two blocks. He shot 5-for-8 from deep in the victory.

Baker, after missing three games with an ankle injury, returned off the bench for the Scarlet Knights. He added 15 points on 6-for-14 shooting to go with three rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes of action. Baker was noticeably working his way back from injury but still looked good in the action he saw.

Things will get a bit tougher when Rutgers takes on No. 13 Illinois at home Sunday. Tipoff for that game is set for 1 pm EST on ESPN2.
