Nobody needs to be reminded of how difficult the last year has been. Rutgers wanted to be sure it thanked those who worked the hardest and put their lives on the line throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thursday night, Rutgers reserved a special moment for healthcare workers at the end of the spring game. On the final play of the game, the frontline workers scored a touchdown to mark the end of the spring practice.

Rutgers also wanted that moment to symbolize everyone crossing the finish line of the pandemic together. It was a really awesome moment in Piscataway:

It was a really thoughtful and fun way to honor the heroes working on the front lines during the pandemic. And, thanks to their hard work, fans were able to attend Thursday night’s spring game and it appears that more states will allow stadiums to return to 100% capacity at some point this summer.

After not allowing any fans a year ago, it will be great to see Rutgers fans filling up SHI Stadium again this fall.
