Rutgers hoops announces quick sellout for key conference showdown
Rutgers basketball season is heating up as the game for the men’s basketball game against the Michigan State Spartans on Feb. 5 is sold out.
Last season, Rutgers accounted for an overall record of 16-12 with a 10-10 record in B1G play. Rutgers finished the 2020-2021 season in the middle of the B1G.
Rutgers and Michigan State split their matchups last season. Rutgers lost the first matchup vs. No. 23 Michigan State 68-45 on Jan. 5. They were able to rebound against Michigan State 67-37 at home on Jan. 28.

Rutgers advanced to the second round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament before losing to Houston 63-60.
Rutgers looks to be a more dangerous opponent this 2021-2022 season in the sixth season with Steve Pikiell as head coach.
