Rutgers associate head coach Karl Hobbs is set to accept the same position at Georgia Tech under new head coach Damon Stoudamire. The move was first reported by Stadium’s Jeff Goodman.

Assistant and associate head coaches are often overlooked for their importance to the college game, but this is a huge loss for the Scarlet Knights. Hobbs has been coaching for over 35 years and has been with Steve Pikiell since he was hired in 2016-17.

Hobbs has been coaching since 1987. He was an assistant at UConn before accepting the HC role at George Washington in 2001. He kept that until 2011 until he headed back to UConn, finally landing with Pikiell at Rutgers in 2016.
