Rutgers received a late addition to its 2020 recruiting class on National Signing Day.

In-state linebacker Jamier Wright-Collins announced his decision to commit to Rutgers on Wednesday. He made his announcement public with a post on his Instagram account.

Wright-Collins becomes the 20th player to join Rutgers’ 2020 class — the first since Greg Schiano’s return as head coach.

Wright-Collins, who does not have any ratings on 247Sports, is a native of Paterson, New Jersey. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound linebacker chose the Scarlet Knights over offers from Kent State, Buffalo and UMass.

Recruiting has been a tough task for Schiano, taking the job so late in the process. Still, he’s been able to land several in-state talents and has done some solid work with the NCAA transfer portal. This is another example of Schiano wanting to keep in-state talent at home.

Rutgers currently owns the 13th recruiting class in the B1G.
