Greg Schiano’s defense is keeping a veteran defender around for one more season.

Tyshon Fogg, the team’s third-leading tackler in 2020, revealed on Twitter Thursday evening that he is not quite done at Rutgers. He will return for the 2021 season, utilizing the blanket waiver handed out by the NCAA for 2020.

Here’s his message:

Fogg finished 2020 with 63 total tackles, 5.5 TFL, and a sack. He had 12 tackles in the season-opening win over Michigan State with two TFL. His best game of the season was a 13-tackle performance against Illinois.

In 2019, Fogg led the Scarlet Knights with 93 total tackles and he has 220 total tackles in four seasons. He also has 13.5 TFL and 2.5 sacks.

Fogg was a four-star member of the 2017 class out of Maryland. He joined the Scarlet Knights as the No. 15 OLB in the nation for that cycle.
