Rutgers will reportedly be making a change at quarterback for its Week 7 matchup against Illinois.

Saturday morning, Ryan Dunleavy of NJ.com reported that the Scarlet Knights would be starting Giovanni Rescigno under center against the Illini, replacing Louisville-transfer Kyle Bolin.

Freshman quarterback Johnathan Lewis is also expected to have a big role in the game.

Bolin has completed just 55 percent of his passes through the first six weeks of the season as Rutgers sits 1-4. He’s thrown just three touchdown passes and tossed six interceptions in five games.

Rescigno was one of the Scarlet Knights’ starters a year ago but hasn’t been on the field much this fall. In 2016, he threw for 889 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions in seven games. Rescigno has appeared in just two games this season and has thrown just two passes.

It looks like head coach Chris Ash is trying to find some recipe that will work for his offense this week in a winnable game against the Illini.

Both Rutgers and Illinois are searching for their first B1G win of the season.
