Rutgers offensive quality control coach Scotty Ohara reportedly hired as assitant at UTEP
Rutgers offensive quality control coach Scotty Ohara is reportedly leaving Rutgers for the University of Texas El-Paso for another role as an assistant coach, according to multiple reports.
On Thursday, Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated reported that Ohara was expected to be named a position coach at UTEP as the program’s new coaching staff starts to take shape. Later, NJ.com confirmed the report that Ohara was leaving Piscataway.
Ohara was one assistant that offensive coordinator Jerry Kill wanted in his corner when he opted to take the job at Rutgers.

Ohara is expected to become the new receivers coach on Dana Dimel’s staff at UTEP.
Dimel, who has been a head coach at Wyoming and Houston in the late 1990s and early 2000s, heads to UTEP after spending the last nine seasons as an offensive coordinator, running backs coach and tight ends coach at Kansas State.
