It’s now official and after a comprehensive search for a replacement, Rutgers will be bowling this postseason.

Rutgers accepted a bid on Dec. 23 to replace Texas A&M and take on Wake Forest in the Gator Bowl.

Rutgers was selected by the Division I football oversight committee for having the highest multi-year APR score.

Rutgers is 5-7 overall and sixth place in the B1G East. The Scarlet Knights are on a two-game losing streak with defeats vs. Penn State and Maryland.

Wake Forest has a 10-3 overall record and finished first in the ACC Atlantic. The Demon Deacons fell 45-21 to Pitt in the ACC title game.

Texas A&M finishes the season with an 8-4 overall record. The Aggies were third in the SEC West and are the lone team to defeat No. 1 Alabama this season.
