Rutgers OL Marcus Applefield transferring
One of Rutgers’ starting offensive line has made a decision to move on from the program.
Earlier this week, starting right guard Marcus Applefield announced that he would be transferring from Rutgers and will pursue a graduate transfer to finish out his collegiate career. He started 10 games this season for the Scarlet Knights.
He made the announcement on Twitter.
I would like to thank Rutgers University and the state of New Jersey for the past four years.I’ve had an amazing time and will love my brothers here forever. I have chosen to play my last year at another program.#jerseylove

Applefield was expected to become a two-starter and be an anchor along the offensive line for Rutgers in 2018. He appeared in 27 career games during his three seasons in Piscataway.
In addition to 10 starts and 27 career appearances, Applefield was also a three-time Academic All-B1G selection.
There was no announcement of a potential for Applefield when he made his decision to transfer.
