Rutgers has had a rough season, but one player is still in the running for a prestigious award.
Junior punter Adam Korsak has put up impressive numbers for the Scarlet Knights. He has an average punt of 43.9 yards on 63 kicks this year, and Korsak was announced as a semi-finalist for the Ray Guy Award on Monday.

The award is given annually to the top punter in the nation. According to the award website, net punting average, number of times punt is downed or kicked out of bounds inside the opponents 20-yard line, total yardage punted, average returned yardage and percentage of punts not returned with particular emphasis placed on net punting average are some of the statistics used to gauge the award.
Following the announcement, R Football tweeted out a list of Korsak’s accomplishments on the year. Needless to say, he’s a pro at pinning opponents deep:
With 28 punts downed inside the 20 yard line, 16 inside the 10, and 8 inside the 5. @AdamKorsak has proven week in and week out why he’s the nations best punter! #𝙏𝙝𝙚𝘽𝙞𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚 | #rayguyaward
