Rutgers has seen a slew of players enter the NCAA transfer portal over the last week, and former four-star quarterback Artur Sitkowski is one of them.

Earlier this week, multiple outlets reported that Sitkowski has entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal. He joins running backs Raheem Blackshear and Elijah Barnwell, who are also exploring their options after the 2019 season comes to an end.

Sitkowski was the full-time starter for Rutgers last season, winning the job as a true freshman. But life was difficult in his first season leading the Scarlet Knights, throwing for 1,158 yards and four touchdowns with 18 interceptions while completing just 49.1 percent of his passes. Not all of that falls on Sitkowski, though, as the offensive line struggled and Rutgers lacked playmakers.

This season, Sitkowski lost the starting job to transfer McLane Carter, but still played in three games. He threw for 429 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in those games, before suffering an injury. Once head coach Chris Ash was fired, Sitkowski also decided to sit out the remainder of the year, using his sophomore season as a redshirt year.

It’s unclear if Sitkowski has a destination in mind, but it doesn’t sound like he has plans to return to Piscataway.
