It’s arguably the ugliest stat line you’re going to see for a quarterback in all of college football this season: 2-of-16 for eight yards and four interceptions.

Those are the numbers that Rutgers freshman Artur Sitkowski mustered in an embarrassing 34-7 loss at Maryland on Saturday afternoon. And to add insult to injury, backup Giovanni Rescigno’s only pass attempt of the game was also picked off.

Coming into the game, the Scarlet Knights ranked 130-of-130 in the FBS — dead last — with a team passing efficiency of 87.03 . That’s not going to change after today’s rating of … minus-43.1.

No, really.

Rutgers quarterbacks have thrown three touchdown passes to 17 interceptions in 2018. And the Knights haven’t scored more than 17 points in a game since a 35-7 win over Texas State in Week 1, averaging a lowly 11.8 points during their horrific six-game losing streak.

There are still five games left on the regular season schedule, so improvement is technically still possible; but it’s a list that consists of Northwestern, Wisconsin, Michigan, Penn State and Michigan State. Unfortunately, finishing 1-11 (0-9 Big Ten) seems inevitable at this point.
