Rutgers will begin its home slate of football games this fall with a special event.

On Tuesday, the Scarlet Knights revealed their “Back to the Birthplace Game” will be set for Week 2 in the 2022 home opener. That game will be played against Wagner with a kickoff time of 4 pm ET.

In addition to the game, the Sept. 10 showdown will feature a pregame parade and pregame pep rally. The pep rally is set to start at 1:30 pm ET, and all fans are encouraged to wear red.

Other special additions to the weekend include giveaway posters, special guest autograph booths, buttons, shakers and miniature Birthplace statues. A food truck festival and post-game fireworks show are also planned with “Back to the Birthplace” shirts available for purchase.

Rutgers opens the season on the road against Boston College on Sept. 3. The Scarlet Knights will begin B1G play on Sept. 24 at home against Iowa.
