Starting Rutgers left tackle Willie Tyler announced Tuesday that he intends to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, a switch from his declaration in December that he was staying in Piscataway.
Tyler started 9 games at left tackle last season but saw his snaps dwindling as the season came to a close.

This is not the first time Tyler has entered the transfer portal. He spent time in Austin at Texas for 2 years before transferring to Louisiana Monroe. He struggled to see the field there and transferred to Rutgers, where he got off to a good start. After failing to hold down a starting spot he’s back in the portal. Before Texas, Tyler played at Iowa Western community college.
He will have 1 season of eligibility remaining.
