The 2018 college football season has been a battle for Rutgers.

And, not just the 1-3 Scarlet Knights are struggling — so is freshman QB Artur Sitkowski. Sitkowski, the No. 18 pro-style QB in the 2018 class from Florida’s juggernaut IMG Academy, has thrown 1 TD pass this season along with 7 INT.

Senior QB Gio Rescigno has come in to replace Sitkowski the past three games and people wondered who would start against Indiana on Saturday.

That wondering came to an end Thursday night:

“Art’s been our starting quarterback,” Ash said. “We’ve never wavered from that, but we always will evaluate every position when we’re not having success. We’ve done that, and Art’s still our quarterback.”

Ash talked more about his starting signal caller:

“Art’s been our starter, we named him our starter for Week 1, he has started every game,” Ash said. “We will continue to evaluate all positions. We evaluate our defensive line, when we’re not playing well, when we’re not rushing the quarterback. We always have to evaluate who are the guys that give us the best chance to win.”

“I get it. The quarterback is a more high-profile position, but Art is our guy.”

Rescigno, who has gotten fewer snaps, has completed 50 percent of his passes while throwing no TD and 1 INT.

Rutgers-Indiana is set for a noon start on Saturday in Piscataway, N.J. The game can be watched on BTN.
