Rutgers updates injury status of freshman C Cliff Omoruyi for Michigan State showdown
Rutgers will unfortunately not have Cliff Omoruyi back for Tuesday’s showdown with Michigan State.
Omoruyi is a freshman and early key contributor for the Scarlet Knights. He has appeared in six games so far this season and started in all six.
His last game came against Illinois when he played just 10 minutes before leaving with an injury. Unfortunately, he will remain out with a knee injury against the Spartans:

Omoruyi is a highly-touted freshman, arriving at Rutgers as a four-star recruit for the 2020 class. The 6-foot-11 center was rated as the No. 4 player out of New Jersey for the cycle and the No. 11 center nationally.
In his six games, Omoruyi averaged 5.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and a block while shooting 72% from the floor.
Without Omoruyi available, Myles Johnson should slot back into the starting lineup after starting the last three games. Johnson had a double-double in the loss to Iowa and leads Rutgers in rebounds per game with 8.7.
