Sneaky, sneaky: Back-to-back trick plays results in a Rutgers TD
Rutgers may not have a chance of beating No. 3 Ohio State in the Horseshoe, but they’re still going to try and maybe have a little fun doing it.
Trailing 35-3 early in the second half of Saturday’s game, the Scarlet Knights pulled off not one but two trick plays. One got the Rutgers drive rolling. The next got the Scarlet Knights into the end zone.
Let’s start with the first one. Facing a third-and-one, Rutgers pulled out its first trick play. It was a direct snap to running back Isaih Pacheco. With the quarterback faking out the defense, Pachecho took off with the ball and ran 66 yards before being tackled deep in Buckeye territory.

A play later, Greg Schiano’s squad was at it again. With offensive lineman Raiqwon O’Neal eligible on the left side, he caught a screen and scored his first collegiate touchdown.

Shoutout to Schiano. If Rutgers isn’t going to be great, at least the Scarlet Knights are entertaining us with some fun trick plays.
