Tampa Bay Buccaneers to place former Rutgers DB on IR
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were again hit by the injury bug on Sunday.
Former Rutgers star DB Logan Ryan is headed to the IR for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network announced earlier today.
#Bucs standout DB Logan Ryan is scheduled for surgery tomorrow to repair a Jones fracture in his foot, with Dr. Martin O’Malley performing it, sources say. He’s headed for Injured Reserve with plans to be back late in the season and the playoffs.

For those unfamiliar with the NFL IR rules players must be out for at least four games, but teams can now bring back eight players from IR and bring back the same player if need be.
The Bucs are hopeful that the former Scarlet Knight will be back late in the season and for the playoffs if they make it there. Ryan this season has 9 tackles, 5 of which are solo, 2 pass breakups and 1 interception.
The Bucs are struggling this season as they are sitting at 3-3, coming off a questionable loss at the Pittsburgh Steelers this past Sunday. They are 2-0 in the NFC South, so do not count the Bucs just yet.
The Buccaneers are on the road against the Carolina Panthers at 1:00 ET on FOX.
