Rutgers football has a successful Week 1.

The Scarlet Knights opened with Texas State and came away with a 35-7 victory. True freshman QB Artur Sitkowski got the start and was deemed the face of Rutgers football earlier this week.

Week 2 will be much more difficult for Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights have to travel and play No. 4 Ohio State. The Buckeyes are certainly a bigger challenge than Texas State.

And, life won’t be any easier on Saturday thanks to a knee injury:

Austin was taken off the field and removed from the game against Texas State due to a knee issue. He appeared to have gotten the injury during an interception he made in the second quarter.

Thanks to Austin’s interception and play in general, he earned a spot on Pro Football Focus’ Week 1 Big Ten defensive Team of the Week.

The Rutgers-Ohio State game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start on Saturday at Ohio Stadium. The game will be televised on BTN.
