Rutgers received some positive news from the NCAA on Wednesday, as two transfer players were granted immediate eligibility for the 2019 season.

NJ Advance Media reported that tight end Matt Alaimo and linebacker Drew Singleton have been granted immediate eligibility by the NCAA. The Scarlet Knights are still awaiting word on quarterback Johnny Langan.

Alaimo transferred to Rutgers after spending one season at UCLA. Singleton spent two seasons at Michigan before deciding to transfer to Rutgers. Langan spent was at Boston College for one year.

Both Alaimo and Langan redshirted their freshmen years at their respective schools. Singleton will have three years of eligibility remaining.

The NCAA’s decision for Rutgers is good news for Chris Ash and the Scarlet Knights, which has battled issues with quality depth in the past.
