WATCH: Former Rutgers star, current U.S. women's national soccer team player nails 55-yard field goal
Can you hit a 55-yard field goal?
It’s OK. I can’t either.
Realistically, I couldn’t hit a 25-yarder. To be honest, it seems like some Division I football programs have a hard time putting out a consistent kicker to do the same on Saturdays. It’s hard to think, but, it’s true. Kicking is difficult.
That said, Carli Lloyd knows how to kick. Lloyd is a current U.S. women’s national soccer team star and scored in this past World Cup, helping lead our country to yet another world cup trophy. She actually scored in six straight Women’s World Cup games, which is a record.
Before becoming a household name, Lloyd was kicking soccer balls at Rutgers for the Scarlet Knights. Of course, she starred there, too.
On Tuesday night, Lloyd ended up kicking a football and the video went viral. Why?
She made a 55-yard field goal:

Color us shocked.

Shocked, impressed, blown away. Use whatever word or phrase you want.
Lloyd did something here that not many NFL kickers can do one time, let alone consistently. If you want a future in football, Carli, it seems as though you have a certain niche you can fill.
