Willie Tyler III, a former Rutgers offensive lineman, announced Sunday that he will be playing at Louisville for the 2023 college football season. Tyler entered the transfer portal in late February after just 1 season in Piscataway.

Tyler has been all over the place across his collegiate football journey. He started as a Iowa Western CC JUCO standout before committing to Texas. After 2 seasons in Austin, Tyler entered the portal and landed at Syracuse.

Three months later, Tyler was in the portal again, this time heading to Louisiana-Monroe. He played 1 season there before transferring to Rutgers. Now, he’s set for (technically) his 6th school in college football.

And he played well with the Scarlet Knights, starting 9 games at left tackle last season. That’s production Louisville and Jeff Brohm can use as they attempt to rebuild the Cardinals program.
