It’s December and key decisions from players on your favorite teams will be deciding if they stay, hit the portal or enter the 2023 NFL Draft if eligible. Rutgers received welcome news on Tuesday as offensive lineman Willie Tyler III announced his plans to return to Rutgers for another season.

Tyler is well-traveled. He started his college football career at Iowa Western Community College in 2018 before playing at Texas in 2019 and 2020 and then for Louisiana Monroe in 2021. Tyler joined the Scarlet Knights for the 2022 campaign, starting the first 9 games at left tackle.

Rutgers is coming off a 4-8 campaign where they only won one conference game against Indiana. The Scarlet Knights were in a bowl game a season ago, albeit by default, as Texas A&M had a bout with COVID, and Rutgers was drubbed by Wake Forest 38-10 in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl a season ago.
