Mick Cronin, UCLA’s head coach, was given a technical and ejected from Friday night’s matchup against Maryland at College Park.

The Bruins head coach was obviously frustrated with the officials’ handling of the foul calls throughout the game, and the play before his ejection is the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Unfortunately for UCLA and Cronin, it was far from their night.

The No. 22 Bruins gave Maryland a solid boost to their resume heading forward, as Maryland took home the win in dominant fashion, 79-61. It was going downhill before Cronin exited, but it got even worse following his departure.

Tyler Bilodeau had a strong game for UCLA, but that’s about where the positives end. Bilodeau finished with 18 points to rival Maryland’s hot-handed point guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie – who finished with a game-high 27 points.

UCLA now sits at 11-5 on the season while Maryland improves to 12-4. UCLA will be back in action on Monday against Ace Bailey, Dylan harper and Rutgers.
