4-star edge from Los Angeles flips commitment from USC to Miami
Miami has swiped a USC commitment from out of the Trojans’ backyard.
Blue-chip edge defender Hayden Lowe had been pledged to play close to home. He committed to Lincoln Riley’s USC program on June 9. Wednesday, however, he announced that he is now committed to play for Mario Cristobal’s Miami Hurricanes.
Lowe shared the big news via Hayes Fawcett of On3.

From Westlake Village in Los Angeles County, California, Lowe plays for Oaks Christian. His listed measurements are 6-4, 242 pounds.
On the 247Sports Composite, Loew is rated 4-stars, the No. 17 edge defender, No. 18 player in California and No. 189 prospect overall in the Class of 2025.
Lowe drew interest from coast to coast during his recruitment. In addition to Miami and USC, he picked up scholarship offers from 27 other programs, including Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee and Texas A&M. Lowe scheduled official visits to UCLA, Miami, Oregon, Texas and Washington in May-June before committing to USC.
USC still has 22 verbal pledges for 2025 after Lowe’s decision to flip. The class ranks No. 12 nationally on the Composite.
With Lowe on board, Miami now has 23 commitments for 2025. The class ranks No. 10 nationally on the Composite.
