DJ Harvey spent 2 years at Virginia Tech before transferring to San Jose State. Now, his next stop will keep him in Southern California but will see him join the USC roster.

Harvey, on Saturday, announced that he had committed to the Trojans for his final season of eligibility. Here’s a video he posted on X revealing his decision:

Harvey, a former 4-star recruit out of the 2021 class, initially signed with Virginia Tech and redshirted after playing 4 games. He played in 10 games in 2022, making 6 tackles and forcing a fumble.

Looking for opportunities closer to home, he entered the transfer portal after the 2022 season, ultimately landing at San Jose State. He posted 28 tackles and 5 passes defensed in 2023 through 11 games.

In 2024, Harvey enjoyed a breakout season as he played in every game, totaling 58 tackles, 7.0 tackles for a loss, 2.0 sacks, and 4 interceptions — including a pick-6 — earning all-Mountain West second-team honors as a result.

Now, Harvey will head to the Big Ten to join a Trojans team that has struggled over the past 2 seasons. After an 11-3 mark, a Cotton Bowl appearance, and a Top 15 ranking, they finished just 8-5 overall and 5-4 in the Pac-12. In their first season in the B1G, they went 6-6 while posting a 4-5 conference record.
