Kyron Hudson pulls in bizarre touchdown catch for USC vs. Nebraska
Kyron Hudson had 7 career touchdown catches coming into USC’s game against Nebraska on Saturday.
He added to that total early in the second quarter against the Cornhuskers, doing so in rather bizarre fashion.
With the Trojans facing second-and-goal at the Nebraska 12, Jayden Maiava fired a pass to the end zone. It went through the hands of Huskers DB Malcolm Hartzog Jr., off the helmet of Hudson, off the chest of Hartzog, and in the hands of Hudson, who managed to hold on to the football while falling to the ground. Following the extra point, the Trojans went up 14-7. It was the second touchdown pass of the day for Maiava as the former UNLV QB starts in place of Miller Moss, who was benched after the Trojans’ 26-21 loss to Washington on Nov. 2.
The Trojans are playing to keep their bowl hopes alive. A loss would drop them to 4-6, meaning they’d need to beat both UCLA and Notre Dame to qualify for the postseason.
Lincoln Riley is feeling immense pressure from Trojans fans, part of the reason why he made the move. The Trojans are just 12-10 since going 11-3 and finishing in the Top 15 after his first season in 2022.
