Quinten Joyner gives USC early Week 7 lead with dynamic 75-yard TD run
Quinten Joyner and the USC Trojans have a tough B1G matchup in Week 7 against No. 4 Penn State.
Beating Penn State will require a team effort, but Joyner is doing his part early in the matchup. The speedy RB took a carry to the house for a 75-yard score to put the Trojans up 7-3 in the 1st quarter.

Joyner went in motion and took the handoff from Miller Moss. Joyner faked a reverse to Zachariah Branch before keeping it for himself and running almost untouched to the end zone.
That was Joyner’s 3rd rushing score of the season. Coming into Week 7, the freshman had 212 rushing yards and 2 TDs on 27 carries. Woody Marks is the primary RB for the Trojans, but Joyner may have earned himself some more carries after demonstrating his speed in Week 7.
If the Trojans are able to pull off the win over the Nittany Lions, their season would be right back on track. The team suffered a hard-fought loss to Michigan and were then upset by Minnesota last weekend. The Nittany Lions, however, entered this matchup with a perfect record and a top-5 ranking.
To kick off the 2nd quarter, Joyner found the end zone again. This time, the back caught a 9-yard TD pass to put the team up 14-3. Joyner has now accounted for both of the team’s scores and 84 of the team’s 179 yards.
It will be interesting to see if the Trojans can keep their foot on the gas. A win over the No. 4 team could have significant College Football Playoff implications.
