Reggie Bush received a big scare recently in his own home.

According to a report from TMZ, the former USC star thwarted an attempted home invasion at his mansion in the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The report states that “at least one person smashed out one of the windows” in Bush’s estate around 2 a.m. ET Wednesday morning. Bush was reportedly in the residence as this happened and scared away the burglar with a yell.

Police arrived at the scene shortly thereafter and discovered broken glass near the back door of the home. Nobody was injured and there were no reports of anything stolen from the home. The incident is reportedly under police investigation. Bush reportedly sent a text to the Los Angeles Times stating “everybody is safe,” following the incident.

Bush purchased the LA-area home back in 2019 for $5.65 million.

The former star is a legend in California. Bush starred for Helix High School in La Mesa, CA, and was rated as a 5-star prospect. The RB committed to USC where he would go on to win 1 BCS National Championship, the 2005 Heisman Trophy and countless other awards and accolades.

Bush would go on to be drafted in the 1st round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. Bush had a 10-year NFL career before venturing into the broadcasting world.

Unfortunately, Bush’s career was overshadowed by NCAA violations that resulted in the star being stripped of his Heisman. However, in the current world of NIL, Bush’s Heisman ended up being returned to him in April 2024.
