USC assistant Luke Huard named Trojans offensive coordinator
USC has given the keys to its offense to Luke Huard, with Huard being named the offensive coordinator on Tuesday in addition to his duties as Trojans quarterbacks coach.
Josh Henson was USC’s offensive coordinator last season before leaving for Purdue this offseason. Now, Huard is getting a shot to be the OC by head coach Lincoln Riley, with the only question being who will have playcalling responsibilities for the Trojans in 2025.

Huard, who comes from an extensive football family, including older brother Brock, who played at Washington and in the NFL, began his USC tenure in 2022 as an offensive analyst. He also took over as inside receivers coach after the death of Dave Nichol.
Huard became the Trojans’ quarterbacks coach in 2024 after Riley also held that title during his first 2 seasons at USC. Huard was vital in helping the Trojans land 5-star quarterback Husan Longstreet, who is the 4th-ranked quarterback and 21st-ranked player overall in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
So, Huard has shown an ability to help with recruiting as he’s climbed the coaching ladder at USC. And now he’ll get the chance to run the Trojans’ offense in 2025 in addition to his quarterbacks coaching duties, although it remains to be seen how much control Huard will have with actual playcalling with Riley as the head coach.
