USC didn’t have to go far to beef up its 2026 recruiting class, getting a commitment from edge/wide receiver Andrew Williams on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder, who is from Fremont High School in Los Angeles, is choosing the Trojans over offers from San Diego State and Colorado State. Williams also received a lot of interest from a number of Power 4 programs.

Williams took to his social media account to announce his future plans to stay in the state of California.

“I’m thrilled to announce my commitment to the University of Southern California to continue my academic and athletic journey. It’s time to focus on my upcoming season,” Williams wrote in announcing the news.

Williams cited defensive line coach and run game coordinator Eric Henderson as the man recruiting him. The 2-way standout comes with much intrigue on defense at the collegiate level. As a junior this past fall, he registered 80 tackles, 10 tackles-for-loss and 9 sacks for Fremont, and he used his long arms to force 3 fumbles.

Williams ranks as a 3-star prospect and the state of California’s 98th-best prospect for the 2026 class by the 247Sports’ composite rankings.

In choosing USC, Williams becomes the tallest edge rusher prospect for the next recruiting class. The Trojans also received a verbal commitment from Braeden Jones of Chicago, who is 6-foot-4.
