USC got another win on the recruiting trail with the pickup of offensive lineman J’Onre Reed out of Syracuse. He choose the Trojans over the likes of UCLA, which he also took a visit to in addition to USC.

This will be the third destination in which Reed has arrived to after he originally started off his college career at the JUCO level with him getting his start at Hutchinson Community College. While he obviously has not gotten to the stat sheet due to the position he plays, Reed has impressed in other areas.

According to Pro Football Focus, Reed only allowed 2 sacks in 2024 despite being on the field for 476 pass-blocking snaps.

Reed will have one year of eligibility as he moves forward with the Trojans, and joins a transfer class that includes running back Eli Sanders, safety DJ Harvey, defensive lineman Keeshawn Silver, defensive tackle Jamaal Jarrett and quarterback Sam Huard as it continues to develop this offseason.

The Trojans will look to bounce back in 2025 after falling short of the expectations in 2024 after Lincoln Riley’s team finished with a 7-6 overall record.
