USC loses commitment from 4-star OL in class of 2025
The USC Trojans have not had the 2024 season they envisioned having. Heading into Week 13, the team has a 5-5 overall record with a 3-5 mark in B1G play.
On Wednesday night, the Trojans received more bad news as a key 2025 recruit announced his decommitment. Carde Smith, a 4-star offensive lineman from Alabama, will reevaluate other options and not stay committed to the Trojans.

Smith took a visit to Colorado in October.
Smith is rated as the No. 24 offensive tackle and the No. 15 prospect out of Alabama for 2025 per the 247Sports Composite ranking. The 6-foot-6, 293-pound tackle stars for Williamson High School in Mobile, Ala.
The talented prospect originally committed to the Trojans back in August. Before committing to USC, Jones committed to Auburn in April. That commitment lasted just months before the tackle switched to USC.
The Trojans now have the No. 13 2025 class in the country following Smith’s decommitment. The Trojans also recently lost a commitment from star 2025 QB Julian Lewis, who is also heavily rumored to be a Colorado target.
In Week 13, the Trojans will take on arch-rival UCLA before ending the regular season against Notre Dame.
