USC releases availability report for season opener against LSU
USC and LSU are at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for the Vegas Kickoff Classic, the season opener for both teams.
In 2023, the Trojans started the year 6-0 but dropped 5 of its last 7 games to tumble out of the College Football Playoff picture. Caleb Williams, after a Heisman Trophy campaign in 2022, regressed in 2023.
Meanwhile, the Tigers went 10-3 in Brian Kelly’s 2nd season in charge, falling in their season opener to Florida State and dropping decisions to Ole Miss and Alabama. They capped their year off with a victory over Wisconsin in the ReliaQuest Bowl, while Jayden Daniels was awarded the Heisman.
Both teams have College Football Playoff aspirations, especially with the newly-expanded 12-team field. For the Trojans, the 2024 season will be a historic one regardless of the result as it’s their first in the Big Ten.
Ahead of kickoff, USC released its availability report. As you can see below, the Trojans have a clean bill of health:
Kickoff from Allegiant Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ABC.
