USC is looking to try and salvage the 2024 season and get closer to becoming bowl-eligible when the Trojans host Nebraska on Saturday.

With the team trying to get some of its swagger back, the Trojans announced on social media that the Trojans would be rocking some 1970s-era throwback jerseys. The jerseys are the 1972 alternate classic that coach John McKay introduced to USC, and that Trojan team went on to go 12-0 and were named consensus national champions.

The Trojans aren’t going to be playing in a national title this year, but they still have an opportunity to end this year on a positive note. USC was 3-1 after a win against Wisconsin but has only won 1 of its last 5 games.

USC needs to figure out how to close out and win close games. All 5 of the Trojans’ losses this year have been by 7 points or less. They have led in the fourth quarter in all of their losses, and have given up the winning touchdown 3 times in the final minute.

Right now, the Trojans are looking for anything to get them out of their funk, and maybe the 1972 throwback jerseys are just the thing to do that.
