USC sees starting lineman enter NCAA transfer portal, per report
USC’s offensive line depth for 2025 has taken a hit with the opening of the NCAA transfer portal.
Mason Murphy has elected to enter his name into the transfer portal, according to reports. Monday is the first day for undergraduate entry into the portal.
Can confirm USC OL Mason Murphy is in the transfer portal, per source. Started all 12 games for Trojans this year at RT.
Lincoln Riley has tried to emphasize development on OL as opposed to going portal, but he has little choice now. Very little depth in USC’s room at moment

A redshirt junior from Riverside, California, Murphy is listed at 6-5, 315 pounds on the USC roster. He is a multi-year veteran with extensive starting experience for the Trojans.
Murphy arrived at USC in 2021. He did not see game action in his first year, and was unavailable for the final 7 games of the season after undergoing surgery on a fractured left foot.
In 2022, Murphy played in all 14 games of USC’s season. He made 5 starts at tackle (3 at left tackle, 2 at right tackle) on an offensive line that was selected as a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award.
As a redshirt sophomore, Murphy played in all 13 games, against making 5 starts. This time, all of his starts were at right guard.
In 2024, Murphy moved back to right tackle. He started all 12 games of the regular season.
Murphy has 1 season of remaining eligibility.
