USC tight end Lake McRee was injured during Saturday’s game against Michigan, and he was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

McRee has had a solid start to the season since returning to action from a right knee injury in August. The potential good news is McRee’s latest setback involves his left leg, but it did not look good.

After catching a screen pass early in the 3rd quarter, McRee was hit low and his legs taken out from under him. His left leg remained bent awkwardly underneath is body as he landed on the ground.

McRee tried to pop up quickly and head to the sideline, but he quickly went back down to the ground and needed to be helped off the field. The TE was USC’s leading receiver to open the season with 9 catches for 137 yards in the first 2 games.

While there has not been an official update on McRee’s injury, the CBS broadcast confirmed the TE spent a brief moment in the injury tent before being ruled out for the game. The CBS cameras caught an emotional McRee on the bench shortly after the injury, but we will have to wait and see the severity of his latest setback.
