USC ties Notre Dame game with clutch TD drive before halftime
USC hasn’t had the season that anyone on the team had hoped for entering the 2024 season. However, the Trojans have an opportunity to put Notre Dame’s College Fooball Playoff chances in big trouble with a win at home.
Trailing 14-7 with 24 seconds remaining in the first half, the Trojans were able to tie the game as quarterback Jayden Maiava connected with Ja’Kobi Lane on a 12-yard pass to tie the game at halftime.
Maiava. Lane.
We’re all tied up!

Maiava became the starting quarterback 2 games ago, and the Trojans are 2-0 in those games. He has USC fans very optimistic for the future, as he threw for a combined 480 yards and 4 touchdowns in the wins against Rutgers and UCLA.
For Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish are 30 minutes away from all but locking up a spot in the CFP. However, a loss to the Trojans could potentially be enough to keep them out.
The Notre Dame offense had a ton of success in the first half, as the Fighting Irish had 218 yards of offense and are averaging over 6 yards per play.
Riley Leonard and the Fighting Irish offense will get the ball first to start the second half, and the game is currently being aired on CBS.
