USC will be without starting linebacker Eric Gentry this weekend, according to a report.

That’s per 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, who notes that Gentry is still dealing with an injury that he suffered last week in USC’s win over Wisconsin. Gentry is the Trojans’ leader in tackles (30) on the season so far.

Gentry leads USC with 6.5 tackles for loss so far this season. He’s also been credited with 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery in 2024.

Despite his impactful presence in the middle of USC’s defense, head coach Lincoln Riley told reporters earlier this week that the Trojans would still be able to operate most of their defense as usual.

“I’d still venture to say, you know, 80 to 90 percent of what we’re going to do, we’re probably going to do whether he’s there or not,” Riley said.

This will be the second Big Ten road game of the year for USC. The Trojans lost their previous road conference game in Ann Arbor, but rebounded last week with a win over Wisconsin.

USC and Minnesota will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday night.
