A big-time recruit will be in Madison and visiting Wisconsin’s campus this weekend.

This week, 4-star defensive back Cristian Driver, the son of Green Bay legendary wide receiver Donald Driver, is taking a surprise official visit to Wisconsin over the weekend. He’s a priority target for the Badgers in the 2022 recruiting class and has received plenty of big-time offers already.

In a simple tweet, Driver said, “Madison, WI…”

Driver, a native of Argyle, Texas, is ranked as the No. 210 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class and is the No. 14 safety, according to 247Sports. He’s received over 40 offers on the recruiting front so far, with interest from Penn State, Alabama, Florida, Michigan, LSU, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Oregon being among the most prominent names.

During the 2019 season, Driver played both safety and wide receiver at the high school level, per 247Sports.

With the recruiting dead period now over, potential prospects are taking plenty of official visits throughout the summer months. Driver wasn’t expected to make a trip to Madison, but he’ll see what the Badgers have to offer.

Driver’s father, Donald Driver, was a four-time Pro Bowl selection, a Super Bowl champion and was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. He ended his NFL career with 743 catches for 10,137 yards and 61 touchdowns in a 14-year career.
