Wisconsin has always been known for its dominant linebacker corps, and it appears the program will continue to add talent at the position.

Monday evening, four-star linebacker Nick Herbig announced his commitment to Wisconsin. A native of Hawai’i Herbig picked the Badgers over several schools on the West Coast, including his hometown Hawai’i.

Herbig made his announcement via Twitter.

“Committed to the University of Wisconsin,” Herbig wrote. “Glory to my God the most high. Thank you to everyone who has been with me throughout this journey. ON WISCONSIN!!!”

Herbig is a big-time commit for Wisconsin. Per 247Sports, he’s listed as the 17th best outside linebacker in the 2020 class and is the No. 2 player out of Hawai’i. Overall, Herbig is ranked No. 187 in the cycle.

In addition to Wisconsin, Herbig received offers from 15 other schools. He chose the Badgers over Boise State, Hawai’i, Cal, Kansas State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, UCLA, USC and Stanford, among others.

With Herbig’s commitment, Wisconsin now has the 25th ranked recruiting class of the 2020 class and sits sixth in the B1G. He is the ninth player to give his verbal pledge and is the second-highest ranked player in the class, behind four-star offensive lineman Trey Wedig.
